Final Environmental Assessment Now Available

The cities of El Mirage, Glendale, and Peoria as well as Maricopa County, in cooperation with Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have prepared a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Northern Parkway project between Loop 303 and US 60 (Grand Avenue). The final EA was approved by ADOT and FHWA on May 11, 2010 and a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) was issued by FHWA on May 11, 2010 as well. Public Comments

Comments on the Draft EA were obtained during the month of October 2009. Various methods were used to gather comments including verbally at the public hearing held on October 14, 2009, on comment forms accessed from the website or at the public hearing, and in e-mails, faxes, and letters. Each comment was reviewed and a response was prepared for each comment. The comment responses were reviewed and approved by FHWA and ADOT.
